Veins And Arteries

The electrical network has been unstable recently and today. But we do have electricity right now :-)
The wires which carry our electricity go into a fusebox and from there into the house. Why is this interesting?
Well, I just thought it was like a house's veins and arteries. The electricity flows through the fusebox and goes to all the lights and appliances and whatnot, and then returns back again.

We have veins and arteries too. You know that. But as I was contempalating this not-so-important-thought in my daily duties a faint brainspark fizzed. We have spiritual veins and arteries as well.

We pray and read the bible! Praying is like an artery, our prayers go out to God. And when we read the bible, it's like a vein bringing Him to us. Or His knowledge anyway. His direction.
Furthermore, both our essential to our continued lifestyle. Stop up the vein, and we lose connection, closeness and our relationship with God. Stop up the artery, and we lose direction, ecnouragement and our relationship with God.

The point is, prayer and bible reading are as critical to our walk as Christians, as veins and arteries are to our body. I just thought it was a cool similarity.

So even if our electricity is off, that's no reason to stop up our own spiritual veins and arteries :-)
